Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is additional funding from the government.  It is generated through numbers of children on low income who apply for Free School Meals.  If your child does not have Free School Meals, but may be eligible because of your family's invome level, you can apply online at www.suffolk.gov.uk/children-families-and-learning/schools/school-meals-uniforms-and-trips/apply-for-free-school-meals/

Government statistics show that children who are in receipt of Free Sschool Meals do less well than their peers in external exams.  The aim of Pupil Premium funding is to try to close that attainment gap by allowing the school to direct additional resources towards these individuals' learning.

Yox Valley Partnership aims for every child to succeed irrespective of their background.  We aim to eliminate the barriers that have prevented pupils with disadvantaged backgrounds from realising their full learning and personal potential.  In the Pupil Premium Strategy Statements attached below we have highlighted how we have used the funding for targeted intervention to acclerate progress in attainment and what additional resources have been used to support them.

At Yox Valley Partnership we make the following provision:

Funding of Support Teachers who work 1-1 and in small groups with children across the schools on English and Maths programmes.

Small group work with children who need additional help with reading and writing (Wave 2 and 3 intervention).

Teaching Assistants supporting children in class, either individually or in small groups to support development of literacy and numeracy skills.

Training for staff on teaching phonics, reading and maths.

Subsidies for school trip, residential visits and music tuition.
